Job Description: GLOBAL EVENT MANAGER

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for an event manager, with events experience to join our growing event operations team (EOP). You will be an integral part of the event operations team, tasked with delivering delivering high-end international corporate events with creativity, efficiency and passion.

This role requires pro-actively and re-actively managing client event projects as part of a highly-skilled and experienced team, including the below key tasks:

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

EVENT OPERATIONS:

  • Project manage events including; development, production and delivery of projects from proposal to delivery to reconciliation
  • Delivering profitable events on time, within budget, and that meet and exceed client expectations
  • Managing supplier relationships
  • Managing client relationships
  • Global travel for client meetings, site inspections, and live event delivery
  • Contribute to weekly team report
  • Manage the event follow up and account management on all FSEM files assigned to you, to ensure client rebooks within the venuesworld.com network for future events

 

REGISTRATION & DELEGATE SERVICES:

  • Working with and overseeing an Event Executive on each project in the following areas:
    • During the build and design of new and existing registration portals and registration home sites
    • Processing and managing delegate payments online and offline
    • Handling large volumes of delegate queries per event
    • Reconciling registration payments in a timely and efficient manner

 

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Work within agreed framework for financial management, ensuring cost sheets and profit sheets are up to date on a weekly basis for review with Operations Director
  • Ensuring a minimum profit per file, to be confirmed by Operations Director
  • Ensure files are reconciled in a timely manner

 

ACCOUNT DEVELOPMENT:

  • Pro-actively retain clients for future events and conferences in the coming years
  • Penetrate client accounts to unearth new business potential to pass to the sales and marketing team

 

REQUIREMENTS (ESSENTIAL)

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing domestic (Irish) or global corporate meetings and events
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Have strong attention to detail with an eye for execution
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office package (particularly Excel) and a high level of computer/IT literacy
  • Be educated to a minimum of degree level
  • Show a natural proactive approach to achieving deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • A natural team player capable of inspiring confidence in both clients and their colleagues

 

REQUIREMENTS (DESIRABLE)

  • Experience with registration systems/other systems (Aventri/Cvent/Event Pro/WordPress or similar) is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
  • Passion and hunger to progress in an event operations capacity, within a global event management company
